Top 5 Global Aircraft Leasing Company

Our client was one of the top 5 leasing companies in the world – a major name, with a portfolio of well over 400 aircraft. Due to a significant order book, this client undertook a significant overhaul of their remarketing and trading efforts as their shareholder dictated that they maintain a young, modern fleet. With this in mind, the lessor reorganized itself to have one line of responsibility into the CEO who would be responsible for the disposal of older assets, and creating a standalone Global Head of Trading to lead these efforts.

After an exhaustive global search encompassing candidates from some 15 countries, we produced a shortlist of ten people for consideration. The successful candidate eventually came from an investment bank in London, who had significant experience of structuring and selling SPVs of older aircraft with leases attached. Both he and his family moved to Dublin for the role and he has settled well into his new surroundings.
